JEN SANBORN
Jen earned her BFA in Fine Art from the University of Arizona. Jen’s oil paintings are usually inspired by the brief moments of Grace she finds in nature. It can be as simple as how light falls across a forest or as complex as in impending storm on the prairie. Her large canvases allow the viewer to experience the impact of such beauty in large scale. Currently working from her studio near Paonia, Colorado, she’s enjoying the company of a flock of local song birds. They seem to be an endless supply of modeling subjects, watching her as much as she watches them. Her small bird paintings capture the whimsical nature of their relationship.
Painting murals as tall as 15 feet, or small canvases of 4”, she’s happiest with a paint brush in her hand, music playing, and her hound dogs snoring nearby.
Her work can be viewed and purchased at Midland Arts Co in Rifle, CO , The Church of Art in Hotchkiss, CO, and in and around Paonia.
